Location and Parking
We are located in Dinkytown, on the 2nd floor of the historic Dinkydale Mall. The stairway up to the shop is immediately after the door into Shuang Cheng Chinese Restaurant, and across the hall from Varsity Bike Shop.
Parking Options
- Both sides of 4th St. SE have several metered parking spots on each side.
- Directly across 4th St. SE from our building, there is a small public lot. This lot is not free--customers pay using their cell phone, either by downloading the PassportParking app, or by calling (612) 345-9556.
- Look for signage within the lot for assistance. The rates (as of Fall 2014) are $4 for the first hour, $3 for each additional hour.
- Public parking can also be found on 5th St SE between 13th Ave. and 14th Ave. SE in the Venue parking lot. The rates (as of Fall 2014) are $4 for the first hour, $3 for each additional hour.
- The University of Minnesota has several lots and ramps available to the public in the area. The closest are the 4th St Ramp (4th St. & 16th Ave SE), and the University Ave. Ramp (University Ave. & 19th Ave. SE).
- St. Lawrence Catholic Church, located at 1203 5th St. SE, offers public parking for a flat $5 all-day fee. Rates are higher during events.
Public Transit
Metrotransit bus routes 2, 3 and 6 all stop within two blocks of the Book House.
We are a short walk through campus from route 16 and the Green Line Light Rail, both of which stop on Washington Ave.
